This Memorial Quilt was first on display in September of 2006. It was on display at the Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall. Scott’s Memorial is recognized by the “yellow school bus”. The person doing his quilt section read about how he used a yellow school bus to transport his friends to his wedding. Little did that person know, the symbolism the school bus represented. It also represented Scott when he was very young. Scott was in elementary school and a boy had called him carrot head. Not knowing what to say, Scott told him he was a “school bus”. For years, we always laughed and joked about that saying.
The school bus is located on the flag in the second vertical column from the right (looking at the picture of the flag) and is located on a red stripe of the flag. If you magnify the image, one can see the school bus clearer.
